K is for Kids® Foundation promotes children's literacy and leadership.

Our teens and volunteers teach kids that reading is fun.  Each year we partner with community leaders to engage children early and often about the excitement of reading and the power of words.  From toddlers to teens, K is for Kids mission is to give kids in need more books to read.

K is for Kids'  Teen Advisory Team  is the voice and inspiration driving the Foundation's mission,"Bringing books to kids everywhere."

Karen D. Clawson, Executive Director

Karen's devotion to the enrichment of children's education is embodied in the organization and development of K is for Kids® Foundation.  Her volunteer activities began in her children's classrooms in 2001, and continue to expand in scope and breadth each year.  She has received nominations for Citizen of the Year in Naples, Educational Partner of the Year for Collier County Public Schools and was twice awarded CCPS Galaxy of Stars awards.

Gregory J. Smalley, Treasurer

A native of Pennsylvania, Greg Smalley moved to Naples in 2004. Greg, a CPA, is principal in Merit Healthcare Consulting Inc.   He also serves on the Delasol Inc.'s HOA, Inc. Board of Directors.  Greg is married to Kathleen and they have two daughters.

Jeffrey S. Buschmann

Jeff Buschmann regularly advises clients involved in complex business transactions. He concentrates his practice on the corporate and securities law aspects of such transactions. Jeff has experience with companies in a number of different industries, including health care, technology, telecommunications and private equity. He handles transactions across the country and has advised clients in a number of international transactions.

Dr. Gene Landrum

Gene Landrum is a businessman turned educator, author and motivational speaker. Gene was the first president and creative force behind the Chuck E. Cheese family entertainment chain. He has made over 1000 talks on the psychology of business success and the psychology behind behavior - his doctoral work. Dr. Gene has appeared on hundreds of television and radio shows including Lifetime television, AP and UPI and has spoken in many venues including the US Capital. The theme of his messages are Innovation, The Psychology of Sales & Marketing, Pathway to Self-Empowerment, Change, Fear and Fame, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Eight Keys to Greatness.

Pam Krol has worked for more than 25 years in strategic marketing, advertising and public relations for a variety of Fortune 500 firms, and as a New York Times syndicated writer and editor for more than 30 national and regional publications. She is also an instructor and lecturer on ancient history, mythology, comparative philosophy and Florida history.
