Retention Convention
Keeping Top Talent in Manufacturing
There will be a Employee Retention Workshop specific to manufacturers held on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm in McAlester. This event, "A Retention Convention - Keeping Top Talent in Manufacturing," will feature Kristine Sexter. Sexter is an expert in helping companies deal with and correct employee retention and turnover problems. Registration costs are $39 or $29 each for 3 or more from the same company. Lunch is provided.

The U.S. Small Business Administration-Oklahoma District Office is seeking successful and inspiring entrepreneurs to represent the state in the 2011 Regional and National small business award competitions.
All nominations must be postmarked or hand delivered to the Oklahoma District Office no later than Friday, November 12, 2010. OCU Business School Honors Governor Anoatubby Oklahoma City University's Meinders School of Business honored five local business leaders at the annual Oklahoma Commerce & Industry Hall of Honor.

Pontotoc County - $19,009 The Ada Unemployment Rate decreased from July to August, while the state and national rates increased slightly during this same period. Ada's rate also showed a decrease from August 2009. Sales tax revenue for the City of Ada for October was slightly down (3.3%) from 2009. However, fiscal year totals are up approximately 8% from last fiscal year. Building permit values for the calendar year are over $22.8 million and indicate a significant increase (124.3%) from last calendar year. |
