Backing Research                    Building Hope                     Beating Cancer
Did you know September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month?

Now that September is upon us and the kids are officially back to school, we are only days away from I Back Jack Foundation's 3rd Annual Back to School Golf Event.  The upcoming event represents more than just another fundraiser; rather, it is an opportunity to speak from the heart and be a part of the great 'heartland' of hope for children across the country.

Please join us . . . in Hartland or in heart by supporting the Back to School Golf Event, acknowledging your awareness of childhood cancer, and backing kids like Jack.

Medical Update:

Inspiring Hope and Making History

Dr Cheung
Dr. Nai-Kong Cheung

The I Back Jack Foundation is proud to share news that the new clinical trial the Foundation helped to fund with proceeds from the 2009 'Back to School' Golf Event began last week treating the first child.

The new drug, hu3F8, is the first-ever humanized form of anitbody 3F8 and is one of the very few drugs in the history of medicine specifically developed for treating neuroblastoma patients.

Dr. Nai-Kong Cheung, head of the neuroblastoma program at Memorial Sloan-Kettering, expressed his appreciation to all of the parents and supporters who made this trial possible, "I want to thank all of you for this unprecedented grass roots idea, your tireless effort and generosity, and above all, your faith in our ability to get this done." Cheung continues, "We are proud of this enormous effort which would not be possible without your partnership. Words cannot describe the excitement of our clinical and research teams, and hope you will pray for its success, as we all do."

Reflecting on this exciting news, the I Back Jack Foundation would like to thank all of our supporters for helping us to take this development for a dream to a reality.  It's not science holding us back from a cure; it's funding.  Together, let's continue to realize what a 'hole' bunch can do.
