It is official, Spring has Sprung!!!  With the nice weather comes lots of bodies outside.  Therefore we ask that you use extra caution when pulling in and out of the parking lot!

 

You recently were sent a newsletter via mail.  In this newsletter was a lot of upcoming events.  So, please take a moment to look at all contained in the mailing.  We have updated the picture and rehearsal schedule correcting all mistakes and adding any missed classes.  These have been posted in the waiting room and will be sent as a separate email.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

 

Calling all Seniors! May 15th deadline

 

Reminder, reminder!!!!  Once again we will be putting together a special senior presentation at the recital.  We are asking all seniors to provide us with a senior picture as well as a write up of your future plans (what school you will attend or career you wish to pursue) as well as your favorite MHDC memory!  Please submit those by May 15th!  Note: a 3x5 or 5x7 would be great!

T-Shirt order deadline-May 16th

 

Order forms were sent with our last mailing.  All tshirts have a listing of all participating students.  This is a great keepsake of the day!

Picture Days: May 9th - 11th 

 

As part of the mailing mentioned above was the schedule for picture days.  The pictures will be taken at the studio and dancers should wear their costumes.  Please be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes early.   We are still awaiting the arrival of some of our costumes-so, please be patient with us!  Note: there are no regular classes held these 3 days.  We will be emailing an updated schedule one week prior to these dates.

Sunday May 15th Ticket Day

On Sunday May 15th we will begin ticket sales for our June 25th performance.  Please be sure you are aware of which show you are purchasing tickets for... Our A show is at Noon, while the B show is at 6PM. Everyone should have received a show assignment list in January. If you are unsure what show your child is in, please check in with the office.

 

We will hand out numbers at 8AM and begin sales right after that throughout the day. If you are unable to return at your assigned times we can pull your tickets for you at that time. Because we have reserved seating we must give everyone the opportunity to choose the seats of they would like.

 

Here are some commonly asked questions:

 

How much are the tickets?

Primary seating is $20 and $18 for all other seating.

 

Do we need a seat for our younger child?

If your child is under 5 and can sit on a lap, then no you do not.

 

What if we need handicap seating?

Please contact Michele at MHDCdance@comcast.net and she will be sure you have the seating you need.

 

If my child/children are in 2 different shows do I need tickets?

If your children take 1 class each and they did not get placed in the same show you will be given complimentary seats for the second show - this would have been noted on your show assignment letter. If your child or children take multiple classes - yes you would need tickets or even better you could be a class mom for the show that you will not watch.

 

What if I cannot come that day?

Lowell Auditorium seats almost 3,000 - rarely  do we sell 1/2 - so there are plenty of seats. After this day you can purchase your tickets any time the office is open. We can also put you on a pull list and pull your tickets at the end of the day Sunday and have them waiting for you at your next class.

 

Why do we need to purchase tickets?

For many that may be new to dance you may wonder why this is not a part of tuition payments etc.  Ticket sales pay for the rental of the auditorium, lighting rental, security and stage hands and much more.

The following classes are part of either a production or combined number.  Therefore, it is necessary that we find a time that the classes can work together.  Please do your best to have your dancers here.

Dress Rehearsals-June 22 and 23

 

A schedule of our dress rehearsals being held at Lowell auditorium was sent in the mailing.  Please be sure to check to see what time your dancer is performing and arrive at least 20 minutes ahead of time with them dressed in their costume. 

 

Be sure to have your cameras and video cameras ready at these rehearsals to take all the pictures you wish!  Absolutely no cameras will be allowed at our performance on June 25.

Bring a Friend Week May 16-21

 

During the week of May 16-21 we will hold Bring a Friend Days.  You are welcome to bring one friend with you to class. They will be able to participate for the first half of class and then they will be able to watch as you rehearse your dance for recital. 

If your friend is new to MHDC and registers for either summer or a fall program you will receive 15% off your summer or first month of fall tuition (this excludes summer intensive).

***note to performing and competitive groups: you are welcome to bring a friend to watch, but for your team and tech classes friends will not participate***

 

Summer Classes, Camps and Intensive

 

We are truly excited about all of our new summer offerings.  Along with 5 weeks of classes we will be offering 3 options to our younger dancers for camps along with our popular Dance Intensive.  Camps are filling fast - don't miss out!!

Calling the Dads!

This year we are hoping to find a couple of dads that are willing/able to help us build a couple of props.  If you are able to help us out please email Melissa at mhdcdance@aol.com as soon as possible.

 

Calling Class Moms!

It is impossible to pull off a recital without the help of mothers backstage caring for the dancers as they wait to go on stage.  If you are able to volunteer as a class mom for your child's class or another class please fill out the form at the end of this newsletter and return by May 13th.  By helping us you will earn $10 in MHDC bucks that can be used for any summer or fall program.  It is our hope that especially for our younger dancers to have a mom that has a child in that class as they will already be familiar with them.  As the recital gets closer we will meet and be sure you understand everything you need to know.

 

 

Date to Remember-Tuesday June 21

 

On Tuesday June 21 we will hold registration night 6-8pm for our fall classes.  Register this night and receive free registration.
