Bristol Borough Uses Videoconference Equipment from IU Grant

Technology Talk  SAFARI Montage: District Focused Webinars via Elluminate | The Instructional Materials & Technology Department of the Bucks County Intermediate Unit recently kicked off SAFARI Montage: District Focused Webinars via Elluminate. These 30-45 minute sessions will focus on examples and ideas on how to best integrate SAFARI Montage into daily classroom instruction. Grant Corner Teacher Grant Opportunities
| The Finish Line Youth Foundation is offering funding starting at $1,000 for programs that promote active lifestyles and team building skills, including those that service disadvantaged and special needs kids. Deadline is 12/31/11. Visit youth foundation guidelines.
Walmart Stores offers K-12 public schools and districts the opportunity to apply for funding from $250 and up through a local store. Program areas include After-School programs, Arts, At-Risk/Character, Community Involvement/Volunteerism, Disabilities, General Education, Health/PE, Homeless, Reading, Safe/Drug Free Schools, Science/Environment, Social Studies, Special Education, TAG, Technology, and Vocational. If you are located near a Walmart or Sam's Club, click here for details. Deadline is December 31 for this year, then giving will resume again February 1, 2012. |
| What's Happening at the BCIU! Parent Academy Forming! | In order to better support parents all over the county, the IU is in the process of developing a Parent Academy! The objectives of the Parent Academy include:
- To provide accurate, up-to-date information on topics of interest to
 parents of children with disabilities. - To provide a safe and helpful forum for parents to increase their skills
and knowledge about the special needs of their child. - To empower parents to effectively advocate for themselves and
their children. - To foster parental involvement in the education of their children.
- To develop systems of support and connections for parents.
