Early in 2011, the BCIU Programs and Services Division began to plan for District Support Teams, as a means to redesign its services and reallocate its resources to better serve Bucks County school districts. This planning took place with the support and endorsement of the Bucks County Superintendents of Schools.

Show Me the Money!

It is no secret that the current economy is challenging all sectors, and education is no excep tion. Enter grant writing and the opportunities that it offers to secure much-needed funds. While pursuing grants is not a new endeavor, it has taken on a greater role for non-profits, schools, and educational service agencies like the BCIU. Grant funding can come from a variety of sources, most of which fall under the categories of either public (government funds) or private (family and corporate foundations).......please click here for the rest of the article.
Dina Ricciardi serves as the BCIU grant writer. Dina's past work experience includes positions in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors, including Chubb Insurance and United Way of Bucks County. A New Jersey native, Dina holds a BA in Communication from Rutgers College and a Master of Social Work Degree from Rutgers University.

 | | Preschool Hearing Support Class | school hearing support team, along with the generous support of Central Bucks SERTOMA, were able to visit two playgrounds mid and upper county, have a Kids' MusicRound class as well as a Sign Out Loud class. The families and teachers also visited the Children's Playground at Tyler State Park. The team is trying to connect families of children with hearing loss on a regular basis as a way of allowing them to share strategies, information and offer each other emotional support.

Through the use of the web conferencing tool Elluminate, we are able to bring in top notch talent from across the nation to provide high quality, interactive professional development directly to Bucks County teachers and administrators.
