Shana Martin Climbs Mt. Kilimanjaro for  HDSA
February 2010
It is with great pleasure that HDSA congratulates HDSA- WI Chapter President, Shana Martin on her recent trip to Africa to raise funds for HD. Shana, and five of her friends, selflessly climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa. The eight-day climb was a test of wills as climbers struggled with altitude sickness and exhaustion. Shana says, "I wanted to turn back at many points, but the inspiration of my amazing mother and all of the other HD families got me to the top." Once at the mountain's summit, the group took pictures with the HDSA banner to commemorate theirsuccess.

Mount Kilimanjaro is considered to be one of the Seven Summits of the world and the highest peak in Africa. Shana and her climbing mates spent six months raising money for the climb and personally paid for travel and climbing fees so all of the money raised could go directly to HDSA.  Cheer Shana on to greater heights by making a donation to the Kilimanjaro for a Kure Fund at  www.firstgiving.com/shanamartin <http://www.firstgiving.com/shanamartin> . You can read about Shana's journey and view pictures on her blog at www.shanamartin.com <http://www.shanamartin.com/> . Congratulations Shana!

Sincerely,
