IN HONOR OF LEONARD SCHEMPER | |  Leonard Schemper went to be with the Lord on June 2, 2011, at the age of 97. Leonard was one of the founders of Schemper's Ace Hardware back in 1954. Leonard touched the lives of many people in Ripon and surrounding communities through his passion to serve others and volunteer. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. |

Summer is here and it's time to enjoy the great outdoors. There is no better way to start the summer off then to invite friends and family over for a barbecued meal. GREEN ITEM of the MONTH | | |
"Rubber Bark" has been added to the long list of green items carried at Schemper's ACE Hardware. This bark is manufactured in nearby Ballico, California by Ag Link Inc. of 100% recycled tires. This choice of ground cover over traditional wood bark has the potential to reduce the carbon footprint 88-94%. A carbon footprint equates to the production of greenhouse gasses.
Used alone the rubber bark creates an even, pebble type look, yet mixes well with older style rubber barks and retains its shine after watering. It is the number one most fade resistant brand. The lifespan of rubber bark is up to twelve times longer than the life of wood products.
