Capture the magic of Volunteering |

To mark National Volunteers Week in June, the Herefordshire Volunteer Centre is holding a Photographic competition. We want your digital photographs that show the wonderful world of volunteers and volunteering.
The winners and runners up of each age groups will have their photos displayed in the Hereford Library Foyer (Broad street) and at the Hereford Volunteer centre itself between 31st May and 4th June.

Capacitybuilders' new bursary fund to support volunteer management skills development |

If you manage and support volunteers you may be eligible for a skills development bursary of up to £1950 from Capacitybuilders.
Each bursary will fully fund an approved skills development package with three access levels - distance and online learning options also available.
There are a limited number of bursaries are available so early application is advised.
Who are the bursaries targeted at? Bursaries are available to individuals in England who support, coordinate, manage or have strategic responsibility for volunteers.
Making an application is simple, quick and online.

| Shelter's new TREE (Training, Recreation, Employment & Education) Project |

Shelter's new TREE (Training, Recreation, Employment & Education) Project Worker, Stephen Organ, starts work next week. He will be working with clients who have experienced homelessness or are at risk of homelessness. He will be developing individually tailored action plans to help people overcome the barriers to participating in education and training, getting a job or getting involved in their community.
The project can accept referrals any agency - as long as the referred person meets the homelessness criteria above, there are no other exclusions. The project can also work with the whole household tackling a range of issues that might impact on family members ability to achieve their potential.

| Meet the New Editor of the Hereford Times |

Our next funding breakfast will be on May 4th at Saxty's Hereford.
We are delighted to welcome Fiona Phillips the new editor of the Hereford Times. With her background in the voluntary sector, she will have lots of hints and tips on how to make the most of local media coverage.
The breakfast is from 7.45am - 9 am and is £5 payable on the day.

See the Difference is an innovative and cost-effective new website aiming to modernise how charities communicate with donors.
Charities of any size can upload videos about specific fundraising projects, and donors can search for initiatives that particularly inspire them, as well as donate online. When a project is completed, donors receive feedback showing them the specific difference their money has made.

| Meet the Candidates at Ledbury Older People's Forum |

Ledbury Area Older People's Forum's next meeting on Tuesday April 13th at 2.00pm, Ledbury Community Hall, Lawnside Road, Ledbury is a chance to question the candidates. They have invited all the parliamentary candidates for the North Herefordshire constituency to put forward their parties' policies (with particular reference to older people) and to answer questions from the audience.
Ledbury Area Older People's Forum is an independent organisation which gives a collective voice to older people in the Ledbury area with the aim of influencing decision-makers on matters which have an impact on older people's everyday lives. Underpinning the establishment of the Forum is the belief that older people have a positive contribution to make to community life.
