Me, Need a Coach? You've Got to be Kidding!
Yes, it's true! Most of us think we are just fine as we are - thank you very much! We move along through life and carry on doing what we have always done. And, for the most part it works! It's just that sometimes - yes, rarely in most cases, but sometimes, nevertheless - we have these things that occur and we are not quite sure how we should react, so we examine the situation and react in the best way we see fit.

Think how much easier it would be if there were a coach we could call on to talk our supposed actions out with before we got ourselves into a sticky situation. A coach - be it a life coach, a career coach, a sports/cultural coach or a psychological coach - can make life just that much easier.
Coaching
Do you need this coach forever? No, it's just nice to have someone there when you can't think straight. That person who can help you by looking through the situation to find the solution that will make the difference for YOU. Not the person in the next cubicle, not the boss, just you.

Not long ago I was working with a consultant who had difficulty communicating with the CEO. Through discussion, and by strategizing the communication process, the consultant maintained the client and eventually took over the organization when the CEO retired. Without a coach, this consultant insists this would have never happened - he was so involved in the situation he could not see the forest for the trees.

In another instance, an individual realized he was unhappy at work but did not know what to do about it. Through some coaching time, he saw his needs and passions were not being met, but he didn't have to necessarily change his occupation. He realized he could still do his job (and bring home a good paycheque) and funnel his energies to activities that excited him outside the job.

Yes, you do need a coach! Look for someone
who can work with you, either on an as-needed or long-term basis to get to the root of many of your challenges. It is a good idea to find this support when things are going well, rather than waiting until life or work become difficult. But, we are human. And of course most of
us will never seek out a coach until life gets rough. If you want your life to run a little smoother, consider having your own personal coach - one for life, one for career development, and maybe one for your sports.

You are already a well-rounded individual. Imagine what you can be with supporters behind you, urging you forward to be the best you can be!

Saskatchewan's 6.3% Economic Growth

Exciting, isn't it? Saskatchewan now has the lowest unemployment rate in Canada. After years of seeing our kids go off to other provinces (or even other countries) to find work, we can finally see them get jobs close to home! There is a concern, though, that many jobs above minimum wage are taken. From our perspective, these jobs are available because of the economic growth we're experiencing.

Help us take a closer look at this: Are you an employer needing to fill positions because you are experiencing a spike in business? Or, are you experiencing a flat line at the moment? And, if you are looking to fill positions, are you finding it easy to do so because people are looking to stay in the province, or do you need to look elsewhere to fill these positions?

Saskatchewan growth - deal or no deal? What do you think? Tell us your experience with the growth of the province.
