Volunteers - They Make An Impact Every Day

Each April brings two unique events which allow Reston Interfaith the opportunity to celebrate individuals and organizations creating meaningful change in our community. On April 12, Reston Interfaith partners with the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce to present the 21st Annual Best of Reston Awards Gala celebrating the outstanding individuals, businesses, and organizations of our community who have shown tremendous commitment to improving the lives of others. The proceeds of the Best of Reston event are donated to Reston Interfaith's programs and services.

During National Volunteer Week, April 15-21, Reston Interfaith will also celebrate our 2,700 volunteers who work beside our staff to help address our clients' challenges and encourage them to accomplish their goals. Volunteers see the side panel below for more information on the April 19 reception.

Please join us this April and get involved.  Discover the benefits of volunteering and be part of the collective power to foster a positive transformation in our community. You can start by clicking here to begin volunteering with Reston Interfaith and read more about the Best of Reston below.

Partnering to Improve Lives

The YMCA of Reston recently made a generous contribution of 35 annual family memberships.  For many of our families, this is the first time they have had access to high-quality recreation facilities and programs. It is especially important for children to have access to the tools that can enhance their wellness. Our clients are now able to develop new life skills, learn how to swim and start an exercise routine.

We applaud the Reston YMCA for helping people make positive changes in their lives.

As part of National Volunteer Appreciation Week, we would like to invite all our volunteers to a special thank you celebration on Thursday, April 19 at the Walker Nature Center from 5:30-7pm.  For more information about volunteering, or to RSVP for the reception please click here.
