Open and Available Shifts
Optimizing staffing has never been more critical.  AcuStaf LMS allows employees using teh Personal Access module to choose schedules based on personalized rules, and to request Open shifts to meet staffing needs while reducing overtime and agency costs.

Shift Requirements
Cost units can now create Shift Requirements - start and end time, skill level, hour label, and target number.  These requirements are the basis for the Open and Available Shifts.

Preparation for H1N1
AcuStaf Nurse How AcuStaf can help
Many of our clients have responded to decreasing admissions by reducing their FTE's.  As the flu season approaches, their is a potential for a rapid upturn in admissions, at a time when your facility is at risk for increased sick calls.  Here are some suggestions:
  1. Use the Health Tracking screen to track seasonal flu and H1N1 vaccination, flu contraction,  FIT test and mask size.
  2. Use hours labels to track sick self and family members, sick replacement, and caring for patients with H1N1.
  3. Determine which part-time and per diem employees are willing to increase their hours as needed.
  4. Are there recently retired or separated employees who would be willing to work per diem?
Your AcuStaf consultant can assist you with creating the necessary pick list entries, hour labels and reports.  Please call 952-831-4122 x1 for more information.

Staffing Legislation
AHA Seal New York and Texas Pass Staffing Bills

This Fall two more states will enact laws designed to protect patients and improve hospital safety.  New York (Bill No. S.3527) and Texas (Bill 476) have joined the growing number of states that have turned to legislation as a safety net for staffing issues.  The intent is to involve nurses in the staffing decisions, create transparency with the patient population, and improve patient safety.

AHA Solutions has endorsed AcuStaf Labor Management System  as a complete labor management solution.  Our robust staffing and scheduling product reports on direct care hours by category, monitors overtime, correlates staffing decisions to patient safety events, is real-time and payroll accurate.
