A Jobseekers Profile
A job seeker must understand their role as an individual seeking an employment or career opportunity. The job seeker experience is different for a high school and college graduate as well as being different from an entry level to mid-career professional. How a job search is approached differs for each person. A key point to remember is to welcome and find openings of opportunity to transition to other areas to learn new skills, abilities and/or work environments.
Today's job seeker may be holding onto:
- unemployment
- low paying employment
- two part time jobs
- no prospective employer responses
- frustration
Based on data from www.snagajob.com most jobseekers between the ages of 25-54 are actively seeking and applying for full time employment. This age group is your entry level workforce college graduates to your mid level experienced professionals. The point of understanding your job seeker profile is purely to develop a job search strategy.
Over the next couple of months Workforce Initiatives will highlight various profiles and strategies for job seekers. These highlights will apply to the employed, unemployed and those in career transition.
My focus is to provide an investment and resources to each individual who wishes to excel in their career and/or profession whether the position you hold exists now or in the future.
