WHEN:

Saturday, March 27, 2010 9:00 am
(Check-in starts at 8:30am)

WHERE: California Baptist University

8432 Magnolia Ave, Riverside CA

Benefiting: This year proceeds will go to the Teen Leadership Foundation a 501C3 nonprofit to help towards their programs which provide summer camps and long-term mentoring avenues for foster youths in Riverside County.

Every year Inspire supports the local "Walk Your Talk Walk" put on by one of our former board members, Jaci Hasemeyer. They do an amazing job of getting the word out on all kinds of foster and adoption issues. Please come out and join the Inspire youth as we take a walk around CBU to show our support of all foster children and ministries.

Also, if you sign up with Inspire they are allowing our organization to keep the funds...woohoo!

It's only $10/individual or $25 for a team or family of 5

Why is the walk so important?
(taken from Walk Your Talk Walk website)
There are orphans among us, and they are called foster children. These are the children who have been removed from their parents due to abuse or neglect. The reasons are many, but the result is often the same, a child that needs to be cared for. There are over forty scriptures that speak the Christian community as to its responsibility in meeting the needs of these children. Too often, our churches have not heeded these callings and have turned the responsibility of caring for these children over to others.

This is why we walk.

4,000 foster children in the city of Riverside
· 50,000 foster children in Southern California
· 50% of foster youth will not graduate from high school
· 70% of foster youth will be homeless, on drugs, incarcerated, or dead
· 58,000 calls of abuse and neglect made to Child Protective Services yearly

Be sure to stop by the Inspire table to register and to say Hi!
