Greeting Inspire Friends and Family!
It is almost the holiday season, and we are gearing up for our annual holiday celebration with the youth of Inspire. This is an intimate gathering of the Inspire youth and their mentors which allows them to have a Christmas dinner and gift opening experience that they might have missed during their upbringing. Keep in mind, this party may be the only Christmas gathering that some of these kids have the opportunity in which to participate.
This is a special opportunity for us to all have a hand in blessing these kids in a personal way that hopefully will reinforce our support and concern for them. We don't just want them to be taken care of, we want them to know they are loved (part of a family) too! We hope you are inspired to participate in making this day memorable and plentiful for the kids. Listed below are some ways you can help:
1. Gift cards:
ØGas stations
ØWalmart/Target
ØStater Brothers or other grocery stores
ØGallaria at Tyler
ØRestaurants/fast food
ØAmusement parks
ØHair salons
ØMovie theaters
ØPrepaid Visa or Mastercard
ØGas stations
Ø...and did I mention gas stations? J
2. Cash donations (must be received by December 1st)-
ØSpecifically for personalized Study Bibles- We are praying for enough donations to place a Bible in the hand of each of our kids. Cost of one Bible- $50.00. Please write "bibles" in the memo line of your check.
ØOr general donations to purchase some gifts that are more special to each youth that are selected off their personal wish list.
ØAs a complete surprise to the youth and for the first time ever, it is our desire to present each of them with a stocking full of goodies delivered to them on Christmas morning. Please write "stockings" in the memo line of your check.
3. Is there a particular Inspire youth in our family who has touched your heart? If so, and you wish to shop specifically for that person, please email Bonnie, Inspire Program Coordinator, at bonnienorgren@yahoo.com to get information from their personal wish list.
4. For many of us, homemade baked goods is as much a part of the holiday season as a Christmas tree. If you have that special gift in the kitchen, please package your baked goods in disposable containers (and include the recipe if you'd like), and contact Bonnie, the Inspire Program Coordinator, at bonnienorgren@yahoo.com for drop off information any time during the holiday season.
Blessings to you in this upcoming holiday season~
