Fire retardant innovator EarthClean Corp. won the $40,000 grand prize at the 2010 Minnesota Cup final awards reception, edging the other five divisional winners. The company's environmentally friendly product enables their mission to "change the way the world fights fires". Press Release
Flagg Named Entrepreneur of Year
Steve
Flagg, founder of Quality Bicycle Products, received the University
of Minnesota's Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Flagg rode his bike to campus to share his
values-based leadership principles with attendees at the Minnesota Cup

Since its launch in 2005, the Minnesota Cup has inspired and supported more than 5,000 participants to pursue their breakthrough business idea. Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers. Harry
also won American Association of
Marketing's
2010 Gerald E. Hills
Best Paper Award for his paper on "The
role of contractual governance flexibility in realizing the outcomes of
key
customer relationships", co-authored with Helena Yli-Renko and Erkko
Autio.
Carla Pavone (PhD '08) was named 'Best Reviewer in
2010' by the Entrepreneurship Division of the
Academy of Management. Carla
Pavone also won the distinguished "Certificate
of Distinction" as the runner-up Heizer Best Dissertation award for her dissertation, "Opportunity
Re-evaluation: How risk dimensions influence post-investment venture
capital
decisions".

Entrepreneurship Summer Bootcamp Welcomes Minneapolis High School Students to Carlson School
The second annual Junior Entrepreneurs of Minnesota program welcomed 30 Minneapolis high school students to the Carlson School this summer. Students spent five weeks on campus developing new business ideas, touring local businesses and hearing from legendary Minnesota entrepreneurs. The students also built a community garden at the St. Olaf Church and Nursing Home in north Minneapolis. This program is a partnership between the University's Office for Business and Community Economic Development and the Holmes Center for Entrepreneurship.
