Hello Friends and Family of Relationship180!
 I am so very grateful and thankful for the blessings that occurred as a result of our Fall Celebration and Fundraiser.   During the evening, two young pastors shared how time spent with me in the offices of Relationship 180 had changed their lives, improved their marriages and influenced their ministry to hundreds of others.  At the time they came in for therapy, they were on limited budgets and did not have the money to pay for counseling.  
 
As a non profit corporation, we ask gracious donors such as you who are a part of the R180 family help make up what they cannot afford to pay. At the time of our banquet, our monthly shortfall was approximately $3000.00 per month.  As a result of the fundraiser, we were able to add almost 30 new families who committed to give regularly to help such young men as well as couples who are out of work, or who are in desperate situations.  That plus other generous gifts allows us to anticipate an additional $2,000.00 per month in donations to help us reach our austere monthly budget.   
 
I humbly say "thank you" to all of you who volunteered, provided silent auction items or who bid on the items which all by itself raised over $11,000.00.  All in all, we anticipate that the event generated approximately $30,000.00 over the cost of the event.  We will be able to make up payroll and fund our monthly needs well into the New Year. 
 
If you were unable to attend the banquet, we want you to know that we hope to add more monthly donors to support the ongoing needs of others who are in need.  If one hundred of you who did not come to the event could help us by consistently giving $10.00 per month to Relationship 180, we will then be able to reach our goal. At the close of this newsletter, Julie will be sharing with you the ways that you might help us if the Lord puts us on your heart to do so. 
RELATIONSHIP 180'S 
U TURNS....(that end up being right turns).
 
Last month I talked about the importance of acknowledging reality as the single most important foundation point for turning things around... in my relationship with myself, with God and with others.  The opposite is denial or ignoring truth.  As I shared truth at the banquet with the R180 family, and asked for help, people responded in wonderful ways.
 
God tells us, "You do not have because you do not ask.  You ask and you do not receive because you ask with wrong motives (James 4:2-3).  
 
What are the needs in your life?  They may be financial in nature and we all know the feeling when money pressure wakes you up in the middle of the night.  It is ever so painful.   Identifying your needs and asking others for help will be the way that others can respond.    Whether we ask someone for a job, a promotion, a raise or if they are willing to purchase your goods or services... do so with a simple "ask" with clear motives and precise desires expressed clearly.   Did you know that many sales persons commonly are guilty of making sales calls and failing to clearly ask for the sale?
 
Perhaps your most pressing needs are emotional and relational in nature?  These can also wake you up in the middle of the night, and even if you had millions in the bank, they torment your soul as well.   What should we do with these needs?  We need to do the exact same thing. Identify what hurts inside and ask for your needs to be met... with God and with others.  Ask God today to help you see an area where you need to simply ask.
