Note from the President
BCA logo
Dear Members,

It has been a month since we came back from the convention. I hope everyone has fully recovered. A lot has already been said about the success of the convention and the great job the Dallas chapter did.  I wish to once more thank the members of the Dallas Chapter and every member who worked hard in putting together a convention that is one for the ages - a fact that is also clearly reflected in the financial reports from the convention.  This was the highest grossing convention ever and we thank the Dallas Chapter for a job well done.  Details of the convention financials are also included in this maiden edition of our monthly newsletter.  Please take time to review and if you have any questions, please contact the Financial Controller at financialcontroller@bca-usa.org. Looking forward, we [.....] Click here to continue reading Note from the President.

Over $21,000 Raised for Multipurpose Center

One Night of Glamour - BCA's premier fundraising dinner this year raised over $21,000 for the Multipurpose Center (MPC) - the highest ever amount of money raised for the project in one event. The event which took place on May 22 at the Blue Cypress Hotel in Arlington, TX was attended by BCA members, friends and supporters. Tickets for the event cost $92.00 dollars for early birds and $100 for the late bloomers. True to the theme of the evening, guest looked very glamorous and stylish.

"We are extremely proud of this achievement. It is such a significant contribution towards achieving our fundraising goals for the Mulitpurpose Center," said Ma Bridget Voma who is co-chair of the fundraising committee and president of BCA Dallas.

BCA President, Ni Julius Ndangam said he was extremely delighted with the amount of money raised. "This was the highest grossing convention ever,"said Ni Ndangam as he congratulated the Dallas chapter for a job well done.

Since its inception, the Friday night dinner has been the main source of funding for the MPC. In a bid to diversify its fundraising efforts, BCA's fundraising committee this year launched a capital campaign to help raise additional funds for the MPC. Committee co-chair Banji Fonjoe, says the fundraising committee will be spending a significant part of the year developing grant proposals for submission to prospect funders who can assist with funding for the MPC.

Convention Recap
By Ma Lora Fogam, Public Relations Officer

Sunday Evening

The annual BCA-USA convention promotes the solidarity of Bali Nyonga people in the United States and abroad. The convention experience this year was every bit as great and as colorful as was anticipated to be. Truly unique and spectacular! Conventioneers are still raving about its magnitude. What was a four day weekend convention last year, evolved into a five-day affair this year, 2009. We are slowly but surely approaching a weeklong vacation of festivities to celebrate BCA-USA's commitment to celebrating and promoting our heritage out here while extending multiple helping hands to ensure that the impact of our might is felt back at home as well. This year BCA-USA celebrated it's ...[Click here to continue reading].
