 Tell Me Sweet Little Lies 

  

There is a classic debate in the Talmud between Hillel and Shammai over what you say Rabbi Posen emailto a bride on her wedding day. Do you tell her that she is beautiful no matter what she looks like, or are you honest with her because honesty is the best policy? The debate speaks to what it really means to lie. In certain circumstances, telling a little white lie might be for someone's benefit, allowing an individual to move on without causing any harm, ever. But, there are times when a little white lie can spread out of control, turning into a full-fledged lie that leaves people devastated and relationships ruined forever.

Invite a friend to Story Friday! Story Fridays Logo Final

As a way to introduce new families to Levine Academy's Early Childhood Education, director Sheryl Feinberg hosts Story Friday once monthly, in the ECC Library. Designed for children ages 6 months to 2 yrs not currently enrolled in preschool, Story Friday brings to life our favorite storybook characters using puppetry, flannel boards and music. We celebrate Shabbat, and enjoy Music and Movement, and it all happens between 10 and 11 am. Free to attend: bring a friend and participate for the fun of it all!

Zapruder talk

Guest Speaker - Myra Ries

 

4th graders were treated to a special speaker. Her name is Myrna Ries, and she is the daughter of Abraham Zapruder, who took the famous film of JFK's assassination.  Ms. Ries is a friend of Annie Glickman, mother of 4th grader Gavi Glickman. 

 

Mrs. Glickman arranged the event for the class.

Mazal Tovs!

Congregation Anshai Torah's Rabbi Stefan Weinberg, husband of Levine Academy's Director of Jewish Studies and Programs Wende Weinberg, received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from the Jewish Theological Seminary on November 1st. 

 

Stasia Itkin, daughter Teri and David Itkin, will be called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday, November 5th at Kol Ami.
