Sunrider Documentary

As more and more of you are inquiring about Sunrider and the foods/products, it is hard to be able to find more information to give, in bite size chunks, that helps to explain the company, the founders, the philosophy, the foods, the manufacturing, the business.  Here is a brief video that helps to explain it, hopefully, a little bit better.

Karma Yoga

A big thank you to all of you who contributed your time, your intentions, your yoga and your dollars to Namaste India! and Room to Read on Saturday, June 16th.

Because of you, $300 in PBY's name was contributed to helping better educate young girls in India.

The simple ways in which we casually contribute a dollar or even a thought go around the world to change another's life.  Never forget the difference one person, one thought and one dollar can make.  Together we make our reality.  Let's make it the best possible for all.

Superbrain Yoga

Superbrain Yoga is a simple and effective technique to energize and recharge the brain. It is based on the principles of subtle energy and ear acupuncture. It is a scientifically validated method to help super energize the brain and enhance its sharpness and clarity. It's a fast, simple, drug-free method of increasing mental energy and boosting brain function.

In brief, you use your thumb and a finger to apply pressure to each earlobe while doing knee bends and taking breaths - 15 repetitions once a day.

"Doubt is a pain too lonely to know that faith is his twin brother."
~ Khalil Gibran

I read that quote, and I was moved.  I so identify with it.  Sometimes things look larger than they are.  They seem scary, unknown...and therefore, scary.

I have lived my life not letting that fear stop me.  It is why PBY is here and you are reading this.  I just march on as if good things are on the way.  I'll tell you what; it works.  It may not always work the way you want it to or expected it to.  It may not look like you thought it would, but in the end, it all always works out.

Because I truly believe in this philosophy, I believe that sooner or later we will be able to open a Clear Lake Studio, and I ask you to believe that with me - still.

Many Blessings,

Taz

SOM - Kristin

I used to be a yeller. When my patience wore thin with my 3 young boys, I would often turn to yelling to relieve my frustration. That was before September 26, 2011 when I cashed in my 30 day unlimited yoga Groupon for PBY. I got to sit behind Taz on my first day!   I was hooked before I even realized all the benefits. Since that day, I don't yell. Well, okay, I am human and they are 4, 7, and 8 years old. I occasionally raise my voice. I am grateful to PBY for this.

I have been involved in sports since I was 9 years old.   I finally settled on track in high school and college. I continued running until I tore my ACL during the teacher balloon pop at field day in 2003. It was embarrassing and basically the end of my running life. I hobbled along for a while after surgery, but it didn't help having 3 kids in 3.5 years. The doc suggested I stop running and jumping to end my knee pain. It worked and I have been able to avoid surgery. I turned to indoor cycling as a way to get my heart rate up and not hurt myself. I decided to start teaching cycle classes a few years ago. I now use all my cycle earnings to fund my yoga.

I had always wanted to try yoga. I knew it probably would be good for my body and my temperament. It was hard to find the time to try something new with three young kids and no extended family in the area. My youngest started a preschool program in September, so I had some kid-free time.  It is time consuming, but worth making it a priority. I have had to ease up on some of my expectations of home cleanliness and have been ruthless in how I spend my entertainment time. My husband who travels often makes his schedule as flexible as he can so I can make it to the studio.

Kid's Kamp
PBYkidskamp

On June 20th and 21st, PBY was so lucky to have 13 little people from age 8 months to 10 years old bless our hot room with their vitality and flexibility.

Taz lead the tiny yogis in 1 set of each posture in modified heat and humidity.

As is standard with children, we all learned more from them than them from us. They reminded us all what a perfect spine is, how to be fearless in life, how to laugh in camel and every other posture, and to simply radiate.

Each child received a certificate of completion and most of all, we had a ball. It was over before it started, and we were left wanting more.

Thanks Taz for keeping things real, making it fun and sharing the love for the Yoga with our future. May they all be yogis!

MSG - the obese truth
"I wondered if there could be an actual chemical causing the massive obesity epidemic, so did a friend of mine, John Erb. He was a research assistant at the University of Waterloo, and spent years working for the government.

He made an amazing discovery while going through scientific journals for a book he was writing called The Slow Poisoning of America. In hundreds of studies around the world, scientists were creating obese mice and rats to use in diet or diabetes test studies.

No strain of rat or mice is naturally obese, so the scientists have to create them. They make these morbidly obese creatures by injecting them with a chemical when they are first born. The MSG triples the amount of insulin the pancreas creates, causing rats (and humans?) to become obese They even have a title for the race of fat rodents they create: "MSG-Treated Rats" .

MSG?

I was shocked too. I went to my kitchen, checking the cupboards and the fridge.

MSG was in everything! The Campbell's soups, the Hostess Doritos, the Lays flavored potato chips, Top Ramen, Betty Crocker Hamburger Helper, Heinz canned gravy, Swanson frozen prepared meals, Kraft salad dressings, especially the 'healthy low fat' ones. The items that didn't have MSG had something called Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, which is just another name for Monosodium Glutamate. It was shocking to see just how many of the foods we feed our children everyday are filled with this stuff. They hide MSG under many different names in order to fool those who catch on."
