Bonsai People Movie Screening Draws a Full House
Bringing vitality to the lives of Bangleshi villagers is not only an amazing feat, but the vision of Nobel Peace Prize winner, Prof. Muhammad Yunus. On November 2nd, 2011, MWA partnered with CAIR-Chicago for the movie screening of Bonsai People, a documentary illustrating the inception of Yunus' vision, and the impact that the Grameen Bank has had on local citizens. Filmmaker Holly Mosher attended the event and added her keen insight about how individuals are harnessing the support provided by the Grameen Bank to lift themselves out of poverty and strive for their dreams. This inspiring night was shared amongst 35 people in attendance, and $215 was collected. The event took place at the beautiful CAIR Gallery in downtown Chicago.
