Letter From Our Founder
|
As-Salaamu-Alaykum Dear MWA Member, Ramadan is a gift - a month when we can practice self-restraint and apply it to our lives. Through fasting we learn to empathize with those who have little to eat. Through charity, we develop feelings of generosity and good-will toward others. Through family and community gatherings, we can strengthen unity and understanding between Muslims and people from different faith and cultural backgrounds as well.
To help us make the most of this month MWA has designed hands-on service opportunities through the Ramadan Rush for Rewards 2010. We hope to see you at the events. MWA thanks Community Service Director Sabina Abdul-Qadir and our Program Managers for taking the initiative to lead this year's meaningful Ramadan events.
MWA wishes you and yours a happy Ramadan!
