Hillsdale Community Health Center Collaborates with ActiveOffice
The Hillsdale Community Health Center is the latest organization to become an ActiveOffice client.
The Hillsdale, Michigan hospital will use the Discussion Forums and File Sharing modules to allow collaboration among various departments. KAK Network Event
The KAK Network hosted the 2nd annual KAK Golf Outing at the Lansing Country Club. The event is in honor of the former director of the Michigan State Medical Society and long-time positive influence, Kevin Kelly.
Kevin's passing in December of 2008 inspired many of his former friends and colleagues to participate in charitable causes of their own. The KAK Network invests in Kevin Kelly's legacy through fund raising in support of the Kevin Alan Kelly Action Fund, a Donor Advised Fund managed by his widow, Jamie Kelly, and administered by the Capital Region Community Foundation.
"Kevin would be thrilled to know that his family, friends and associates gathered in celebration of his life, legacy and commitment to public service", said Jamie. The golf outing attracted sponsors, donors and, of course, many golfers who remember Kevin's amazing influence.
The kaknetwork.org website, provided by Digital Active Online, served to provide information, and allowed registration and donations. We look forward to assisting with future events for the organization.

Health Care Association of Michigan Launches New Website
The Health Care Association of Michigan (HCAM) has launched its new website, hcam.org, targeting a combination of target audiences. HCAM serves the public by offering information on nursing and rehabilitation services. ActiveCMS provides the content management tools and ActiveOffice allows for the management of member access.  As an association, HCAM represents the interests of providers of nursing and rehabilitation services. The new site allows members to login for information and industry resources, with the ability to view and register for upcoming events. The Events Calendar provides easy-to-use tools that allow HCAM staff to add events, choosing between public or members-only display and registration. The website includes a number of functions designed to better connect with members while reducing the tasks required in managing the website content. In addition to the management of web pages, the ActiveCMS tools include: - Newsletter sign-up tool
- Discussion Forums (Members only)
- Management of provider information
- Both "News" and "Events" use an ActiveCMS "Date Range" function that automatically posts and removes the event details based on the dates entered
- An "Ask HCAM" section for HCAM to share questions and answers among members

Capital Area I.T. Council Meeting: Meet the F.R.I.B.
The monthly meeting of the Capital Area I.T. Council was held on the campus of Michigan State University and featured a presentation on the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB). As one of the largest funded projects by the Department of Energy Office of Science, M.S.U. beat out several outstanding facilities to host the FRIB.  The $600 million project has resulted in over 400 full-time jobs, as well as a number of contracting jobs in architecture, construction and manufacturing. The monthly meeting was a joint meeting with M.S.U., the Capital Area Manufacturing Council, the Greater Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Capital Area I.T. Council (Digital Active Online is a member of the latter two). Project Manager Thomas Glasmacher was thoroughly entertaining as he described the arduous, ten-year process of winning the project and the benefits to the local community. The FRIB has over 800 registered users from 55 countries, with organizations such as Boeing, Honeywell and NASA lining up to purchase "beamtime." The facility will attract researchers from all around the world while generating over $1 billion in economic activity. The applications of the research will benefit a number of areas including: biomedical, energy, material science and national security. The Durant Grand Opening
 September 24th saw the rebirth of the Flint Michigan landmark.
Buildtech LTD, and a host of partners, celebrated the renovation with a
Grand Opening. The former hotel, named after the legendary General
Motors founder William "Billy" Durant, is now a combination of
commercial and residential units. The celebration was held in the newly
renovated grand ballroom and featured a host of dignitaries and
representatives from the various supporters and partners, including the
Genesee County Landbank, the C.S. Mott Foundation, Ford Foundation,
Community Foundation of Greater Flint, MEDC, MSHDA and Genesee County.
The website, thedurant.com, was developed by Digital Active Online and
