 With a target market of hip, tech-savvy students, thedurant.com was developed with a mobile version of the tenant login. Using a Blackberry, iPhone, Droid, or any other phone with browser capability, tenants can login and submit maintenance request. The system allows property management to receive auto-email alerts as the submitted issue enters the system.

GLIN Chooses Beachtowns for July Site of the Month
The Beachtowns.org website, created by Digital Active Online, has
garnered the July Site of the Month by the Great Lakes Information Network Site (GLIN). The organization has awarded other websites from
IL, MI, WI, NY and IN.
The Beachtowns site promotes several communities
on beautiful Lake Michigan and features a bouncy video promoting the
historic West Michigan Pike roadway. Visit beachtowns.org, and
then of course, visit any of the wonderful beach towns along the Lake
Michigan coast. |

Illinois Childcare Network
 Digital Active Online announces a new website and database management software client. The Illinois Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics offers a searchable database of pediatric care providers in the state of Illinois. The project will include a website redesign of the Illinois Provider Directory (IDP) using the ActiveCMS content management system. The development of a new site will include management tools, allowing IPD staff to add and edit providers within the system. Visitors to the website will be able to search based on a list of criteria including ZIP Code, Service Definitions (e.g., Asthma, Insurance Accepted, Medicaid Provider, etc.), and the results will be displayed based on relevance. Providers eligible for listings can use the website to propose their inclusion in the database. The website system features also include: - Google API mapping functions
- An Email function through which IPD staff can send a message to a select group within the system
- Auto email alerts notifying IPD of pending providers and emails to providers notifying them of approval

It's a Launch: TheDurant.com
The project to renovate The Durant Hotel in Flint, Michigan into a mixed-use building with commercial space and over 90 apartments is near completion. Digital Active Online has launched their new website, thedurant.com. The website features the historic background of the building, information on the new building, and a lease application. The website is integrated with the ActiveProperty Management system created by Digital Active Online. Tenants are able to login to enter and track maintenance issues, as well as view news and announcements regarding the building and the downtown community. The renovation of the building, formerly known as The Durant Hotel, began in 2008. With the historic preservation of the building being a key concern, the project was completed in partnership with the Genesee County Land Bank, C.S. Mott Foundation, Ford Foundation, Community Foundation of Greater Flint, MEDC and MSHDA.  "It is wonderful to see The Durant become a landmark of downtown Flint once again. The website will be a great tool for connecting with the community and, with the tenant management tools, a great way for tenants to communicate with management," said Amy Hovey, Senior Vice President - Capacity Building, Center for Community Progress. The building has already leased a number of apartments and attracted interest from various events looking to rent the renovated ballroom. |

Kevin Kelly: Positive Attitude Changes Everything
by Todd Ross In the polemic realm of Michigan politics, you would be hard pressed to find anyone who could have called Kevin Kelly anything but a positive force. As the former Executive Director of the Michigan State Medical Society, Kevin was held in high esteem for his tireless efforts to advance his organization and his volunteer work on behalf of countless charities. Kevin's untimely passing in December of 2008 has inspired many of his friends and family to further his legacy. Digital Active Online has been chosen to create a website for the newly formed KAK Network. The KAK Network promotes Kevin Kelly's legacy through fund raising in support of the Kevin Alan Kelly Action Fund, a Donor Advised Fund administered by the Capital Region Community Foundation. The website will serve to promote the KAK Network Golf Outing, which is onSeptember 13 at the Lansing Country Club, and will serve other upcoming events for the group. Kevin's mantra of "Positive attitude changes everything" still inspires me, as I was fortunate enough to call Kevin a friend. As the consummate "connector," he would be proud to see his friends and colleagues rallying to create such a positive force. I feel lucky to have been asked to join the board of directors of the KAK Network and I am truly honored to be associated with such a great legacy. |
