Networking Tip

Permission To Let Go.

We have three key permissions that will make networking easier and more fun. The first is Permission to Network (tm). You'll enjoying networking more by simply giving yourself permission to reach out your hand, to start a conversation with someone you don't know, to give out your business card and to give yourself time to connect with more people. The second permission is Permission to Let Go.

Nick Morgan, author of
Trust Me: Four steps to Authenticity and Charisma, says give yourself permission to let your emotions have full play. So many people automatically put up a defensive wall when someone engages them in a conversation. They play their cards close to their chest and fear opening up. Give yourself permission to like the other person. What's the third Permission? We try and keep these tips to around 200 words, so we will save the third Permission for next time!
