Work Smart: Conquering Your Email Inbox
By: Gina Trapani

How many messages are in your email inbox right now? A few dozen? It's probably more like a few hundred, or even a few thousand. We all get too much email.

Start using your email inbox like your postal box: empty it, every single time you check it. It's not that hard to do. If you get into the habit, you'll feel on top of your game like never before.

The key is to train yourself to make an on-the-spot decision about what you need to do with an email message--and put it in a place where you know you'll get to it on time. You don't need a complicated filing system. There are only three kinds of email messages: stuff you need to do, stuff you're waiting on, and stuff you might want to refer to later. Make three folders in your email program: To-do, Reference, and Wait.

Help Newmarket Begin an Era of Growth!

The Town of Newmarket is conducting a survey related to the services they provide in the community, both to residents as well as businesses.  It takes about 10 minutes to fill out online, at http://newmarketsurvey.dpra.com

This is a very important opportunity to provide feedback and suggestions to the Town as we collectively begin an era of growth and revitalization.
Three Little Words.
It's 8:00 am., guests start arriving, coffee in hand, scanning the room for a place to sit. What happens? The first person picks a table near the back of the room. The second person arrives. Where do they sit? They choose another empty table across the room! This pattern continues until finally someone joins a person at a table, but they then take a seat at the opposite side of the table. The irony is our presentations are on networking. Our request is simple: Will you be the one to change this pattern? Instead of starting a 'fresh' table, walk over to a table where someone is sitting and say, "May I join you?" Or, if someone is looking for a seat say these three little words, "Please join me." Magic.
