The Smart Taxation Alliance, a non-partisan coalition of business leaders and organizations, is pleased to see legislation introduced in the provincial legislature to put into place the tax reform measures announced in the 2009 Ontario budget. The tax reform package includes personal, small business and corporate income tax rate reductions and sales tax harmonization. The impact of the tax reform package could represent 47 billion dollars in investment and almost 600,000 jobs.

The Town of Newmarket is seeking input from the Newmarket business community as it prepares an Economic Development Plan that focuses on implementation within 5 strategic areas: Health Services, Advanced Manufacturing, Newmarket as a Regional Centre, Knowledge Industries, and Arts and Culture. Completing the short survey will enable the Town and community partners to identify key priorities for future growth.
