Be a Community Star in our video!

United Way of Thurston County is seeking volunteers to star in a very fun music video that we'll be showing throughout our 2012-13 (and probably beyond) fundraising campaign.
The project will be produced and directed by local
videographer Richard Aronson.
We're aiming to recruit about 200 people to participate in this video. We need a diverse range of people all ages. This video will powerfully show the power of working together to better our community.
Filming will take place on Sunday, July 8, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., at the Farmer's Market downtown.

United Way awards $425,000 in grants for the 2012-14 funding cycle
With a focus on bringing lasting change, United Way of Thurston County will provide $425,000 in grants for each of two years to support 31 health and human service programs. Each funded program aligns with one of United Way's three focus areas: Education, Income and Health, all building blocks to a better community. By funding these three areas we are increasing high school graduation rates, improving financial stability for individuals and families, reducing homelessness, increasing access to healthcare and increasing food security in Thurston County. The grants are made possible by individual and corporate donations made during United Way's 2011-12 campaign. Read more.

Everyone is invited to join us for the 20th annual
DAY OF CARING on Friday, September 21, 2012.
The largest volunteer event in our community, Day of Caring brings together businesses, service groups, students and others to form volunteer teams to complete
one-day projects for local nonprofit organizations.
