| Didn't Eat Healthy Today? | By Rebecca Rebmann, CTN Improving your food choices for better health or losing weight can be really stressful when you have no idea where to start. This year, we have an additional layer of stress - a difficult economy. The truth is when we experience more stress, we pay less attention to our food choices. For whatever reason, there are days when a home baked cookie can just make your day.
Just remember this - you have to eat for the rest of your life and some days are just not going to be perfect food days.
You are going to go to parties where all there is to eat is pizza and cheesecake. Be grateful you are out having fun! Fun is a huge component in managing stress. So enjoy yourself today and tomorrow go back to eating in a way that is better aligned with good health. Just don't give up because you've had one bad food day!
Set health goals and stick to them. Do the best you can. Be prepared. Think about your schedule in the morning when you have time to plan your food. At the very least, stick to all fresh food if you can. Grill some chicken and steam some veggies. Eliminate soda. Drink more water. Stay away from packaged, highly processed food.
Just keep it simple and fun and remember that small changes add up to better health, and a healthier body stays leaner naturally.
