Finding Grace in Silence...The Art of Meditation
·The nature of the mind is to think. Meditation is about working with our minds by repeating sacred sounds and mantra's to coax the mind into a restful state.
·Don't try to meditate...allow yourself to be with the silence.
·Meditation is about quieting the mind long enough to hear your intuition or inner wisdom.
·When we meditate, we increase the amount of slower brain wave patterns, particularly alpha waves which allows us to gradually enter a deeper state of relaxation.
·It is normal to feel restless, agitated or bored when we first begin to meditate. It is like trying to cool down an engine that's been revving too high, for too long.
·Meditation also allows us to induce brain synchrony or whole brain integration, a rebalancing of the two hemispheres of the brain.
An out of balance life is fueled by an out of balance brain. Meditation restores balance.
·The more we meditate, the less we are affected by external events. We return to being inner driven instead of outer driven.
·The quality of your outer life is always dependant on the quality of your inner life because we are spiritual beings and our power, love and harmony all come from within.
·Any period of stillness, regardless of the quality, is nourishing to your mind, body and spirit.
·It is in the silence that we have the greatest opportunity to access the power of grace.
"Once you conquer your mind, you have conquered the world. Once you have found joy and beauty within, the whole world becomes infused with joy and beauty. Once you are successful inside, external success is yours."
