April 6, 2009 Choosing The Right Attitude " Changes in attitudes, changes in latitudes, Nothing remains quite the same Through all of the highlands and all of the islands, If we weren't all crazy we'd all be insane" - Jimmy Buffett "The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of Attitude on life. Attitude, to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than success, than failures, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company ... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for the day. We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one thing we have, and that is Attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react. And so it is with you, we are in charge of our Attitudes. - Charles Swindoll You are better than you give yourself credit for. You have immeasurable potential, infinite intellect, boundless love. It is this great filter of attitude that opens or closes the trap door to your success. Everyone has all the raw materials necessary to manifest their dreams. How much progress you make and how fast you make it depends on large part of how well you initiate and maintain the proper attitude in the proper situations - sometimes confidently assertive, sometimes gentle and nurturing, sometimes focused and determined, sometimes flexible, playful and creative, as needed. It's not like there's a single formula for the right attitude, but rather, be so free that you can choose exactly the right attitude for the present moment. This freedom to select the right state of mind and body is one of the greatest glories of humanity - to decide how to show up in any given circumstance. How sad that we may forget the awesome impact of directing our attention effectively - and how magnificent that we may remember, and use our unlimited power to achieve at the highest level we can imagine. Just for today, decide what your attitude is going to be, and hold yourself to that standard - and then, you can decide again tomorrow. One day at a time, develop some momentum around having a great attitude. You will be delighted with the results! OUR ARTICLE OF THE WEEK IS ... "A struggle to stay healthy."
