Special CycleItalia retro wool jerseys- a great holiday gift!
These 100% merino wool jerseys are just the thing for cool fall cycling or to sport on your next old bike rally. Made for us, not in Italy but in New Zealand. After all, that's where most of the sheep are! The CycleItalia logo is knit right into the fabric, not embroidered on afterwards. Best of all, you can have one too, as the maker creates these for us almost one-at-a-time. He'll send it directly to your home or office and accepts Paypal via this LINK. We're not sure delivery can still be made before the holidays but it's worth a try.

Featured Tour:
Vineyards to the Sea
A sublime combination of Monferrato wine country, climbs of the Giro dell' Appennino and Liguria's Cinque Terre, this vacation has it all: peaceful roads through meticulously tended vineyards, steep climbs and twisty descents through the Appennines, and stunning views of the sea above the Cinque Terre. Enjoy the cooking and wines of both Piemonte and Liguria as we ride from vineyard to the sea.
June 3 - Overnight flight to Milan.
June 4 - After a short transfer, assemble your bike (or be fitted for one of ours) at ourMonferrato hotel. Relax by the pool or take a warm-up ride though wine country before our welcome dinner of Piemontese specialties.

June 5 - We're off to Calamandrana, in the heart of Piedmont wine country, rolling over peaceful colline under bright sunshine. Pause for pranzo in the shade on the terrace of a favorite osteria before continuing to our restored farmhouse lodging on a hillside surrounded by vineyards. Our group cena will feature wines made within steps of our lodging.

  CycleItalia's Official Suppliers
We're often asked how we choose our official suppliers. It's far from a pure business transaction or simple collaboration and more like a true friendship. First, we must like the products, most of the time they're things we'd pay full-price for and in some cases we have paid full-price for them in the past. Next, we must like the people involved as we're not interested in promoting any product, no matter how great or how much we're paid, if we don't admire the folks involved with it. Made-in-Italy goes a long way too. Here are links to interesting, well-written stories that illustrate the philosophy we admire in two of our official suppliers - CAMPAGNOLO and SANTINI.

CycleItalia's philanthropy
We're extremely fortunate to be able to make a living doing what we love. Each year we distribute some of our profits to worthy organizations. You can find them all on our website links page under "CycleItalia Proudly Supports." In this issue we feature World Bicycle Relief, a charity providing bicycles to empower people. All donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar until year's end so help this wonderful operation sooner rather than later. We just purchased another bike ourselves.

Recipe:
No specific recipe this time but instead a suggestion for a source for wonderful products from Italy, our friends at Gustiamo. Each year we order up a box of goodies for the holidays to be shipped to the family in California in advance of our annual visit. The contents never fail to inspire Heather in the kitchen and we think it'll work for you too. This holiday season, living in Sicily let us create our own "Babbo Natale" box and ship it off to the family to enjoy in our absence. If you can't find authentic Italian products near where you live, get 'em from these nice folks and tell 'em we sent you!
