Three months after my sister Lori died in 1995 at the age of 36 from complications of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy
(HCM) I dedicated the HCMA to her memory.
The upcoming 11th Annual Lori Anne Flanigan Memorial Golf Outing -- A Tribute to Larry Flanigan also celebrates her life. She was a wonderful mother, a great friend to all who knew her, and a much loved
daughter and sister! Lori was a real character, but she'd be happy to know that we have a "place to network, share information and to know we were not alone" with HCM. This is how she lives on for me through the HCMA. It was established in 1996 to help others learn how to LIVE with HCM. Had Lori known about all of her available
treatment options, she would likely be alive today.
This year, the Outing will be at the Picatinny Golf Club, Rockaway, NJ from 12:00 Noon. Shotgun Start on Monday, June 1, 2009 our father, Larry Flanigan, Lori's Father, the former Chairman of the Outing, also passed
away June 7, 2008 from complications of HCM. He may have visited you in the
past to ask for your support of the Outing and likely shared a joke, a smile
and a heart felt thank you for your support.
