That's right, LITTLE LADY STUDIO took home the Best of Show award at the Bolingbrook art festival! I was absolutely thrilled when the judges approached my tent with a ribbon in one hand and a cash prize in the other! Not only is the money needed but it is so rewarding to have my work recognized because it means that I'm succeeding at doing my job. I'm reaching audiences with a visual message that is purposeful and important. Art can be a compelling and thought-provoking tool used to help explore contemporary issues of social change.

I was so grateful to have met Tina Guide from Virgo Rising Presents, the producer of the art festival, as she was a fantastic coordinator and wonderful women.

So far this spring season has sprung into action and I plan to keep it busy with more events and opportunities to reach greater audiences with my work!

Choosing a Path: Rainforest and Yoga

On my recent trip down under, yoga in an Australian rainforest represented choice at its finest. I not only flexed my body, but my mind came out feeling most limber and renewed.

I shot the image above as I was walking to the yoga class in Byron Bay, finding it so inspirational and symbolic, I named it, The Path of Choice, which will be the springboard for my next Ambient series.

CIVIC DIALOGUE    MyPOP Collection   Poverty Awareness

CARE conference

Jessey visits Capitol Hill with CARE

As most of you know, MyPOP works to encourage civic dialogue and action in regards to the issues that surround poverty. At the beginning of May, I returned back from Washington DC after participating in the CARE National Conference. I've been a supporter for CARE for a few years now and made the trip to continue my learning, advocate on Capitol Hill and to make some greater connections.

The trip was very productive as I was able to meet some outstanding individuals, learn a great deal and receive affirmation that local initiatives help to support critical global agendas. I look forward to further building and growing connections between MyPOP and CARE.
