AAA Travel Expo Co-op

Adventures in NE Ohio will once again be selling co-op opportunity at the AAA Travel Expo. This annual show will be in Columbus at Veterans' Memorial Hall Jan. 20-22, 2012. This leisure market show is heavily promoted to the AAA members (but is open to anyone) a proven traveling market that does the majority of their travel within the region. Attendance for this three day show in 2011 was over 14,000!

Adventures Booth at AAA ExpoWe have reserved four booths to do a regional representation for our Adventures area. There are two options to be part of the co-op:

1) You can actively participate by joining us in Columbus and working a shift. Shifts will be split by all day Friday & ½ day Saturday AM or ½ Saturday PM & all day Sunday. The cost is $325, +your lodging costs that you will arrange on your own. (To book this show on your own booth cost is $950 for a 10x10 or $1050 for a corner)

2) You can choose the "Send your stuff" option for $100. You will get your literature to a designated Adventures member from your area prior to the show. Your information will be displayed in a brochure rack and also on a table with an informational sign about your venue.

Participating members will also be asked to contribute something for a grand prize basket drawing and the leads generated by this drawing will be shared with participating members (2010 generated approx. 500 new leads.) We will also be looking for "small giveaway items" for the prize wheel. Last year our booth was quite popular with constant traffic and lines to spin the prize wheel!  This will be the third year Adventures has offered this fabulous co-op deal and spaces fill up fast! Please be sure to reserve your spot today by contacting Mary Olah for your commitment contract (full payment due by January 1) or call Lynda Nemeth 440-632-1538 for further information.

Co-op Marketing Opportunities

The cooperative marketing committee is starting to plan for next year. This is one of your member benefits, marketing as a group helps to show that there is more to do in the region and that helps to bring more visitors to your venue. Cooperative marketing also helps to cut the cost to each member allowing members to advertise in places that they are not normally able to advertize.

The avenues we have used in the past have all been print advertising most of it from our members in Adventures.  This year we did have a cooperative ad in AAA Home & Away Magazine and they gave us a very good rate. With all that being said, what would you as members like to see us pursue in the way of cooperative marketing alternatives?

Please contact Amy Rutledge, co-chair, at amyk@carrollcountyohio.com  with your ideas.
