FEBRUARY 2012 - ISSUE #2
Small Business Health Insurance Co-op Update

Dear (Contact First Name),

I am pleased to let you know The Greater Westfield Chamber of Commerce intends to participate in the Massachusetts Association of Chambers of Commerce Executives (MACCE) small business group purchasing cooperative, which will be offering access to reduced health insurance costs for our small business members.

In order to participate, The GWCC has been approved as a qualifying Chamber of Commerce, which means we will be able to provide discounts to our members with fewer than 50 employees. Discussions are in progress with health insurance carriers to offer discounted health plans covering all geographic areas of the state.

Participating businesses will be able to take advantage of the Co-op discounts by joining the Co-op and enrolling in health insurance through their existing broker or intermediary. If a business renews their health insurance in the next couple of months before Co-op enrollment begins, it will be able to immediately switch to the Co-op health insurance offering, unless the business has already joined another Co-op. I will keep you informed as further updates become available.

Sincerely,

Kate Phelon

Executive Director
