Open House & Dedication
of the Kindergarten Cottage
Monday, Sept. 14, 3:35pm

The Kindergarteners begin class in their sunny new cottage on Monday! Please join us in community as we celebrate this grand accomplishment next Monday after school at 3:35pm with a dedication ceremony, followed by treats and tours (until 5pm).

Families who would like to make a contribution at the dedication will have the opportunity to purchase native perennials for $2 each. Roughly 100 plants are planned for a lovely garden on the Cottage grounds.

Hope to see you next Monday after school!
Geothermal Matching Grant Update

As you may have heard, we have received a $15,000 matching grant that will help pay for geothermal heating and cooling in our new Kindergarten Cottage & Early Childhood building! This generous grant is from the Green Heart Fund of The Minneapolis Foundation. As of today, we've received $13,200 in pledges that will be paid between now and March 2010. We still need $1,800! Can you make a difference and bridge that gap?!

Help us green our school! Download a pledge form and designate your donation to geothermal or any other aspect of our wonderful new building.

Geothermal heating and cooling of the Kindergarten Cottage is just part of a $400,000 capital campaign to enhance our facilities, expand our curriculum and support our teachers (see below for more info).
 Making Room for the Future
Building Enrollment. Building Community. Building Curriculum.

The Kindergarten Cottage and geothermal heating are part of a larger capital campaign to create a beautifully upgraded and expanded building and grounds to support a full Waldorf curriculum including academics, art, foreign language and movement. The campaign also includes funding to strengthen and support teacher benefits and retention.

Download a pdf that outlines full details of the $400,000 capital campaign. If you are interested and able to contribute, please download a pledge form and mail your donation to MWS, attn: Liz Lacey-Gotz, 70 E Cty Rd B, St Paul, MN 55117. Or, call or email Liz at school, to discuss your pledge possibilities and to have a form and return envelope sent to you via regular mail.
