Lori Poloni-Staudinger Observes German Elections
Lori with German Election Lit
Dr. Lori Poloni-Staudinger was in Germany during the national election on September 25, 2009.  While there, Lori gathered election related materials (seen here). One of the more interesting experiences she reported having was witnessing a NPD (National Democratic Party) rally on the Marienplatz in Munich as well as a counter-demonstration with protesters accusing NPD followers as being neo-Nazis. The air was thick with tension, according to Lori.
Congratulations Matt Peak
Matt Peak and Award
Matt Peak is the winner of the department Facebook Fan Page contest. The department held a drawing on October 1 with one lucky fan of the department Facebook page winning an iPod Shuffle. Matt Peak's name was randomly drawn. Matt is a freshman in the Political Science B.A. program. Matt comes to NAU from Tucson, AZ. He selected Political Science as a major because he's always been interested in the way the country has been run. We look forward to seeing Matt in classes!
