"Forward Together" declaration released
In an unprecedented appeal to America's public and private leadership and to the American people, leaders of organizations representing tens of thousands of American nonprofit organizations have called for a reinvigorated and empowered partnership between government and the nonprofit, or "citizen sector," to address our country's social, economic and environmental problems and improve the quality of community life. The nonprofit leaders issued a declaration entitled, "Forward Together: Empowering America's Citizen Sector for the Change We Need," that calls on the nation's governments and businesses to join with its nonprofit, or citizen, sector for a renewed "partnership in public service."

NDANO Executive Director Dana Schaar was one of the declaration's initial signers. To learn more and add your signature to the declaration, click here.

Bismarck Library adds GrantStation
The Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library has added GrantStation, a new online option for grant writers and grant seekers, to its Grants Resource Center. GrantStation offers comprehensive tools for fundraising. The interactive website allows grant seekers to identify potential funding sources for their programs or projects and mentors them through the grant-seeking process.

GrantStation provides access to a searchable database of grant makers who are actively accepting inquiries and proposals from a variety of organizations; federal grant deadlines, which are updated twice a week; links to state funding agencies; and a growing database of international grant makers. Numerous common grant forms are also accessible from the website.

Since 1994, Bismarck Public Library has also made the Foundation Center's resources available to the public. The Library's Grants Resource Center is located on the main level of the Library in the Reference area. The Center includes a variety of books on the topic and online database information on grant makers, companies and IRS 990s.

For more information, contact the Bismarck Public Library Reference Desk at 701-355-1480.
