Older americans seek new volunteer incentives
According to a report commissioned by the AARP, 73 percent of adults between the ages of 44 and 79 volunteered for an organization in the past year, but significant barriers remain to tapping the full potential of these individuals.

The Chronicle of Philanthropy provides a summary of the report.

V3 Campaign update
The V3 Campaign, launched by Robert Egger (the keynote speaker at the 2008 NDANO Annual Nonprofit Leadership Conference), has had solid movement over the last month. Here are some highlights:
  • New version of the site, V3 Campaign, which now gives employees, volunteers, funders and friends the ability to ask candidates in their zip code to respond to the V3 questions.
  • New innovation that tracks the responses and gives people the ability to rate and opine on the ideas candidates forward.
  • 501V3 Blog, the V3 Campaign's newest vehicle to elevate bold ideas. It will delve into the political news that affects the nonprofit sector and start a dialogue about what it means for our future. Marc Peters, a recent Truman Scholar, will be the engine behind the blog.

Egger is exploring innovative ways to get the nonprofit sector engaged in local and national politics, as well as merged in philanthropy and unity. Learn more about Egger at his website and blog
