 | Culture in EU external relations - MORE EUROPE LAUNCH |
| "More Europe", a new initiative supported in part by the British Council, has been launched at a high profile event in Brussels on 8th December 2011. Based on best practice evidence and research, More Europe is a cultural civic initiative whose objective is to highlight and reinforce the role of culture in the EU's external relations. The launch will be followed by a series of public debates and media partnerships until December 2012. |

 | Chatham house / british council study "cultural Dialogue and international security" |

The British Council is partnering Chatham House and the Goethe Institute in this two year study aimed at formalising role of cultural dialogue in international stability and security. A two day conference sponsored by NATO took place in London on 6/7 December 2011. We had significant input and impact, offering ways of conducting this dialogue, engaging others through our projects and networks.

Martin Hope, Director British Council EU Office was among the speakers at the "Culture and Conflict" round table on 7 December, organised by Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (IFA) and European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC). Together with Damien Helly from European University for Security Studies, Moukhtar Kocache from Ford Foundation Middle East and North Africa, Susan Koscis from Search for Common Ground and Member of European Parliament Franziska Brantner, the panel tackled the questions of realistic achievements, efficient evaluation and risks involved in the field of Culture and Conflict.

 | Friends of Europe Conference on Pakistan On Thursday 26 Jan 2012 the Country Director, British Council Pakistan will be talking at the Summit Conference in Brussels. He will take part on the panel that looks at how the international community can help to reinforce civilian institutions and civilian leadership in Pakistan.

Vanishing Point live in Brussels
Scottish theatre company Vanishing Point is coming to BOZAR in April 2012, with Interiors, an adaptation freely inspired by Maeterlinck's Intérieur.

 | JOHN CONSTABLE IN MSK Gent Many people still have fond memories of the British Vision exhibition organised by the Museum of Fine Arts Ghent. Now the museum is launching a new English season, in which two key figures of the British Vision, landscape painter John Constable and Pre-Raphaelite Ford Madox Brown, will be given their own exhibition. Constable's exhibition runs from 17.9.2011 until 29.1.2012, Brown's from 25.2.-3.6.2012. |

| European Parliament Art Collection Enjoy European Parliament art collection online- Lidia Geringer de Oedenberg, the MEP responsible for cultural and artistic events in the EP, initiated the establishment of an online gallery so that everyone could appreciate the collection. |
