Family Finds Hope and Help

After one week of parent training, Benjamin said two words together for the first time in his life: "Open door." Alana gets tears in her eyes remembering it. "I knew that it was more than two words. It was the answer we had been praying for. We really were opening a door."
Before training, Benjamin didn't answer to his name and seemed oblivious to his surroundings. While other children were fascinated with toys, Benjamin did not even notice his own. Less than two weeks into Brain Engineering, Benjamin began noticing the world around him. "Chair" he said in recognition of the object that was always there. "Move chair," he said when he wanted his family to change the position.
As though waking up to his world, the toddler noticed his toys and began playing with them. He became interested in exploring how things work, and carried his little tool set around the house trying to use them. Alana rejoiced that her little boy who once could focus on a task for only 30 seconds could now do the same activity for 15, sometimes 30 minutes.

Across the miles in South America, Alana's brother and his family were struggling with their 9-year old son, Jonathan, Benjamin's cousin. Jonathan could not get good grades no matter how hard he tried. He was frustrated and felt he was stupid. His teachers said he had Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) but treatments were no help. Alana suggested that perhaps I could help Jonathan too.
Jonathan and Benjamin share the same family tree, a family full of visual thinkers. Jonathon was evaluated and qualified for the Brain Engineering program also. After only two weeks, Jonathan received an "A" in school.
Jonathan quickly progressed. Before starting my training program, he studied 1-2 hours for his weekly tests, never achieving a good grade. He was often tearful and frustrated and his mother was heartbroken that she did not know how to help him learn. Jonathan now only has to study 15-30 minutes for his tests and is receiving higher grades. Reading a book used to feel like punishment, but he now reads and understands without help.
In just 2 and 3 months, Jonathan and Benjamin were on the road to becoming verbal thinkers and enjoying the benefits of learning, loving, and living. For these cousins and their families, the door truly is now open.
