Greetings!
The Decade of the Maverick Mind The National Institutes of Health and the Library of Congress declared the 1990's as The Decade of The Brain because of the explosion in brain science and its impact on how we manage our daily lives.
I look forward to the new decade as the "Decade of the Maverick Mind." As you know, Mavericks are people with strong visual-oriented brains. We know so much about the brain now and how to train visual kids to use their magnificent brains to improve their language, communication, and learning skills. We have the evidence that this training works-not just through testing and reports from parents and teachers and other professionals but also through brain scans taken before and after training that show the improvements and changes in the brain.
For me, these are exhilarating times. I began studying visual thinkers in 1970 and quickly developed an international consulting practice. Despite my success, I was faced with my biggest challenge in 1985 when my third child, Whitney, was born. He proved to have the most advanced visual brain I had ever seen - and it caused a lot of problems:
1. He had no sense of time. He could be up all night for days. 2. He did not relate to me as his mother, or his brother or sister as his siblings. He had no connection to people. 3. He was always taking things apart. 4. Instead of sequencing, he would jump from one activity to another with no apparent purpose. 5. He would remember how to find the toy department in a store we had not been to in a long time.
I began to understand how Whitney was thinking and remembering, and then I was able to put my research and experience to work devising learning programs that helped him bridge the gap between the visual and verbal regions of his brain.
I also became his strong advocate, making sure the school system provided the educational support he needed as he gradually acquired proficient language skills. Many teachers and professionals said he would always be in special education classes - yet Whitney began taking college courses in 9th grade!
Take Your Time Machine To 2009 My practice has become even more international. In the past year, I have consulted with families in Indonesia, Poland, Cyprus, China, Philippines, Greece, France, England, Ireland, Bolivar, Pakistan, India, Germany, and Scotland. I have also worked for the Ministries of Education in Greece and Cyprus, and the Dept. of Education in Moscow, and met with the First Lady of Cyprus. Everyone is interested in setting up programs for the at-risk visual thinker, the Mavericks.
But my heart belongs first and foremost to the parents of the at-risk visual child because being a parent and helping my own children succeed is my most important role in life. I am very proud that my daughter Vanessa is now an attorney, and my two sons, William and Whitney, are chemical engineers.
We went through stressful times when Whitney was young, and I had many questions:
1. Who should I trust? Which teachers, principals, doctors, and therapists know what would be best for Whitney? 2. Can Whitney become symptom-free? 3. How do I get the best program at school for my child? You may have asked yourself these same questions. And I can help you find the answers, just as I did for Whitney. January and February are critical months at school. The teachers and educational professionals now know your child well, so it is time to figure out how to maximize the rest of the year.
Schedule a screening appointment today. Together, we can test and discover your child's brain strengths and weaknesses, create a plan for maximizing his or her potential brain power, and how to maximize his or her educational resources.

Scholarships
We now have two scholarships available per
month which reduce the cost of our services to a fee that is affordable for most
families. The scholarships provide
interest-free payment plans that are supported, in part, by Brain Engineering
Labs. Candidates selected are high visual thinkers who will benefit the most
from my programs.
To inquire about the scholarships, please
schedule an appointment with my assistant Tia Zorne by clicking http://brain-engineering-labs.genbook.com. Choose "Scholarship Telephone Interview" and select a day and time that's open and convenient for your
schedule. Tia will then call you at the time and date and phone number you have
specified. It's as easy as
that.
