RIGHT OF REDEMPTION REDUCTION DISCUSSED IN EMAIL
|
There have been rumblings this week about legislation that would reduce the right of redemption period from one year to 90 days following an email that was sent to every House and Senate member by proponents of the measure. The HBAA has been contacted by a number of Senators and House members expressing support for the housing industry and pledging to help defeat any effort made by others that would be detrimental to the home building community.
The HBAA Governmental Affairs Committee will discuss the issue at its meeting on Tuesday during the ABLE/Winter Meeting in Montgomery.

SPRINKLER INSTALLER BILL RECEIVED FAVORABLE REPORT
|
A bill that would permit master plumbers to install fire sprinkler systems in single family homes received a favorable report in the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee this week. Sponsored by Senator Bryan Taylor, the measure is designed to lower the cost of sprinkler installation by creating a new license that a master plumber could apply for that would authorize him to install certain fire sprinkler systems. The measure now moves to the full Senate for action.
