SENATE BREAKS DEADLOCK
|
Tuesday saw the end to three weeks' worth of debate on the
road stimulus bill. A cloture
motion, a procedural tool to end debate, failed by one vote, spurring the
sponsors to carry the bill over.
This allowed the Senate to begin receiving first readings and messages
from the House. The HBAA is
hopeful that the HBAA's legislation can continue moving forward.

HBAA ENJOYS PRODUCTIVE WEEK ON THE HILL |
The HBAA was able to get
both the Senate and House versions of the building and energy code bill moving
this week. Senator Mark Keahey,
sponsor of SB 315 (Senate version), was able to get the bill a favorable report
from Energy and Natural Resources committee this week and a second reading yesterday
in the Senate. House Bill 264
(Wren, Montgomery) received its first reading in the Senate yesterday and has
been assigned to the Energy and Natural Resources Committee chaired by Senator
Keahey.
