The Beauty of Words

Words and abbreviations surround our every breath and meet us at every turn. Technology lets us communicate almost instantaneously in a new kind of shorthand - texting. Our society and culture are filled with information.
But remember as a child when words captured your imagination, took you into lands far away, and left a sing-song melody in your head and heart? When was the last time you found yourself drawn into the pages of a book and unable to put it down, because of the rich language that delicately brushed the deepest parts of your heart and soul? Language that if spoken would roll gently and graciously off your tongue in quiet conversation. "It's something I've often thought about - how beautifully people wrote and spoke before TV and the Internet," says TTE's CEO Terry Thompson.
For many of us, that may be a time far away. Technology has brought many benefits, but it has also brought challenges. Technology has impacted the kind of "toys" we play with, how we spend our time, and the way language is used.
Alexander Green ponders this in a recent column he penned, "The Lost Art," which appeared online in Spiritual Wealth. He writes, "Dear Reader, According to ACNielsen Co., the average American watches more than four hours of TV each day. That's two months of nonstop television per year. In a 65-year life, that person will have spent nine years glued to the tube. The same study found that the amount of time per week that parents spend in meaningful conversation with their children is 3.5 minutes. The average time children spent watching TV each week? 1,680 minutes. Parents often wonder how they can better relate to their kids, how they can combat the coarsening effects of modern culture."

Client Testimonial
I publish Mosaic Mind, Body and Spirit Magazine in Alberta, Canada,
and in each issue I feature an interview between myself and some of
the biggest names in the personal growth field today. Due to the busy
schedules of these people, I often only get the interview completed just
days before we go to print. In that very tight timeframe, where efficiency
and accuracy is critical, TTE Transcripts really shines.
First, their customer service is always exceptional. When I send an
e-mail to let them know that I need an upcoming interview transcribed
within a certain timeframe, they always answer back promptly, letting
me know that they'll fit me in, even if it's on short notice. Then reliably,
within a day, I get the whole interview back, transcribed with amazing
and accurate skill. Having been a news reporter, I know the work
involved in this so I appreciate what they do tremendously!
I'm really so grateful to TTE Transcripts for their service. Knowing that
I have them supporting me, behind the scenes, makes my job so
much easier.
