Emergency -- All Delta Hands On Deck Now

Senate President Pro Temp Darrell Steinberg and Governor Schwarzenegger are cutting a last minute deal that will destroy the Delta, California's fisheries, and Delta agriculture, while piling on more debt for all Californians.

The entire water package except for sb 229 (Fran Pavley's water rights bill) may be rolled into SB772 (Steinberg). It will include a obligation bond that will fund some kind of facility (new Delta conveyance) and some mitigation, but does not protect Delta fisheries with adequate flows or Delta communities. The details may change minute by mintue, but they are moving to create the biggest water grab in California history.

Call you Assembly Members and Senators and tell them to stop the Steinberg-Schwarzenegger water package. Tell them no deal cutting. No water bond. And no destruction of the Delta. And if can go to the Captiol now is the time to show up in person
