 Worship Conference

 November 8-10, 2011

A special invitation to theAM from Rector Steve Breedlove:

What is the message of the Gospel that is hard-wired into our Anglican liturgy, and how do we communicate it clearly and powerfully?  What are the means for spiritual transformation available through Anglican worship?  How is Anglican worship particularly tailored to include, and minister to, creative artists?  These and many other essential topics will be on the table at the upcoming conference entitled Anglican Worship: A Conversation on Liturgy, Formation, Mission & Art, November 8-10 at All Saints Church in Durham, NC.  Join me, our church staff, Mark Galli, David Taylor, Dr. Lester Ruth, Dr. Sam Wells, Andy Piercy, and many others for this conference aimed at clergy, worship pastors and leaders, artists and those interested in ministering to artists.

As Christ-followers, we all want to be spiritual, but few of us know how to get there.  Even fewer believe they have the time or space in their lives to fulfill this dream. At this event, Bishop Todd Hunter will focus on spiritual formation and mission within the rhythms and routines of ordinary, everyday life and will highlight Jesus' two central practices: a journey inward (discipleship) and a journey outward (evangelism).

Come reflect in silence, rehear God's story, stimulate your imagination, dialogue with others, learn, eat at the Table and be sent to be Christ's ambassador in your everyday, ordinary life.

Now Open: Winter Conference Registration!

Although Scripture is filled with examples of the presence and power of the Spirit operating in everything from the actual creation of our world (Genesis 1:2) to the transforming "new creation" of our personal lives (2 Cor. 3:18), the Holy Spirit has often been overlooked or ignored. At next year's Winter Conference in Houston, Texas, we will seek to correct this all too frequent omission. The theme for next year's conference will be "The Holy Spirit: Power for Mission."

Men's Backpacking Trip Forges
Christ-Centered Community

 Backpacking Men

Sharing laughs around the campfire after a full day of hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina means fun and fellowship for the men of New Grace Church in Jacksonville, Florida. On their eighth annual 24-mile backpacking trip, they deepened friendships, admired God's creation and stretched their legs.

Church Plant Readies Land for Spiritual Harvest

land rendering In the past, the five acres of farmland off Boseman Road in Mississippi's Madison County produced an ample harvest of corn. But the Rev. Keith Allen believes the newly purchased site of Holy Trinity Anglican in Jackson, Mississippi, will produce a different kind of harvest in the years to come.

Journey to Wholeness Conference Touches Hurting Believers

Bodishbaugh teal Many participants found both emotional and physical healing at Journey to Wholeness in Christ, a healing conference held October 20-22 at Christ Anglican Church in Mobile, Alabama. Simeon Fellowship Gathering Sparks Ideas and Camaraderie

Baseball Practical insights from guest speakers, encouragement from other missional rectors and a baseball game under the hot Texas sun. It was just what 38 attendees at the second-annual Simeon Fellowship gathering in Dallas September 12-14 needed to refresh their commitment to church planting and raising up leaders in their own contexts.
