 Worship Conference

 November 8-10, 2011

A special invitation to theAM from Rector Steve Breedlove:

What is the message of the Gospel that is hard-wired into our Anglican liturgy, and how do we communicate it clearly and powerfully?  What are the means for spiritual transformation available through Anglican worship?  How is Anglican worship particularly tailored to include, and minister to, creative artists?  These and many other essential topics will be on the table at the upcoming conference entitled Anglican Worship: A Conversation on Liturgy, Formation, Mission & Art, November 8-10 at All Saints Church in Durham, NC.  Join me, our church staff, Mark Galli, David Taylor, Dr. Lester Ruth, Dr. Sam Wells, Andy Piercy, and many others for this conference aimed at clergy, worship pastors and leaders, artists and those interested in ministering to artists.

2010 Currents Everybody Has A Mission

SEPTEMBER 30, 2011

Greetings!

"Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind." Philippians 2:1-2

May we in theAM be of one mind with Christ and each other, serving in humility and love.

Blessings,

Winter Conference 2012

Winter Conference 2012

Now Open: Winter Conference Registration!

Although Scripture is filled with examples of the presence and power of the Spirit operating in everything from the actual creation of our world (Genesis 1:2) to the transforming "new creation" of our personal lives (2 Cor. 3:18), the Holy Spirit has often been overlooked or ignored. At next year's Winter Conference in Houston, Texas, we will seek to correct this all too frequent omission. The theme for next year's conference will be "The Holy Spirit: Power for Mission."

Lazarus Ministries Hosts Fifth Annual Health Day for the Homeless

homeless health care
Enjoying some pampering.

For downtown Atlanta's homeless, Sept. 18 meant they were treated not as invisible but as important members of society. At the fifth annual Lazarus Ministries Health Day, an outdoor health fair addressing both physical and social needs, more than 685 homeless guests came out for free services like dental exams, haircuts, manicures, job skills training and bag lunches provided by Trinity Anglican Mission's Lazarus Ministries and several other local organizations.

Special Service Caters to Adults With Developmental Disabilities

second sunday singing
Participating in Second Sunday Service.

The second Sunday of each month, enthusiastic, discordant singing resounds at the Second Sunday Service, a worship gathering for adults with developmental disabilities started by Christ Anglican Church in Millville, New Jersey. Psychologist and church member Dr. Barbara West leads the 40-some participants in a special litany that they can easily follow, then a craft and snack where volunteers build relationships and offer unconditional love.

Anglican Coalition in Canada Refocuses at 2011 National Conference

ACiC Speaker
Archbishop Yong
Eighty attendees at the Anglican Coalition in Canada's 2011 National Conference held September 15 -17 walked away with a deeper knowledge that intimacy with Jesus is the basis of mission and discipleship. They heard from keynote speakers including
the Most Rev. Yong Ping Chung, retired Archbishop of SE Asia; the Right Rev. Todd Hunter, Bishop for Anglican Coalition in America (ACiA) and Churches for the Sake of Others; the Right Rev. Silas Ng, ACiC Bishop; and the Rev. Dr. Terry Walling, founder of Leader Breakthru. Moreover, they moved into a new visionary phase for the ACIC and took away a strong sense of unity and focus for the future.

Share in God's work at the conference.

All Saints Dallas Kicks off Pastorates

pastorate
Bishop Philip Jones

The early Church has much to teach us about living in community, and All Saints Dallas is set to follow that example by launching Pastorates this month. These groups of 25-40 will meet every other week to become more Christ-like, minister to one another and serve together.
