New Book Tells Story of All Saints, Pawleys Island In his new book, Building a Church to Last, Buddy Lindsay tells the remarkable story of the phenomenal growth and transformation experienced in a 250-year-old congregation located in the Lowcountry of South Carolina after Bishop Chuck Murphy, then its senior pastor and his "rag-tag army of believers" implemented a first century worship and leadership model. Building a Church to Last describes a proven method for planting new churches and re-planting existing ones, especially those within mainline denominations. It is also a beautiful story of what can happen when the Lord "grabs hold of a small congregation and turns it on its head."
Building a Church to Last is available at Amazon.com and through the All Saints bookstore. If growth and transformation can come to a 250-year-old colonial congregation in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, it can come to any congregation anywhere, especially those congregations within the Anglican Mission.
Ross M. "Buddy" Lindsay, III, is a successful lawyer, CPA, and hotelier. After experiencing first-hand the miracle at All Saints Church, he earned a Ph.D. in Church Growth from Brunel University and an L.L. M. in Canon Law from Cardiff University Law School. Today he serves as President of Sonship Ministries, Inc. where he coaches church planters and entrepreneurs who want to move from empire building to Kingdom building. Dr. Luis Palau, Luis Palau Association, Portland, Oregon "With sober precision, Ross Lindsay unfolds the narrative, and all who long for God to show his hand more widely in our midst today will find this book an absorbing page-turner." Dr. J. I. PACKER, Regent College, Vancouver, Canada "My sincere belief is that the first century worship and leadership model expounded upon in this book can enable any local congregation to experience the many blessings that All Saints Pawleys has." |

Now Open: Winter Conference Registration!
January 11-14
Houston, Texas
Although Scripture is filled with examples of the presence and power of the Spirit operating in everything from the actual creation of our world (Genesis 1:2) to the transforming "new creation" of our personal lives (2 Cor. 3:18), the Holy Spirit has often been overlooked or ignored. At next year's Winter Conference in Houston, Texas, we will seek to correct this all too frequent omission. The theme for next year's conference will be "The Holy Spirit: Power for Mission."

Children Encounter God on Sacred Field Trips
As the weather grew warm and summer break began, Emily Cool Greener, Children's Ministry Leader at Church of the Redeemer in Highland Park, Illinois, wanted to engage the children in her church and community. But big, flashy programs didn't suit their small church. Instead she invited families to venture into God's world and learn about His presence on four Sacred Field Trips in June. Through experiences at a botanic garden, a farm, a cathedral and their very own church building, children of all ages learned to be intentional in the way they seek the Lord.

Children's Minister Gets a Fresh Take on VBS
A weeklong visit was all it took for Melanie McGehee to renew her passion for children's ministry. Leaving her own parish, Church of the Apostles in Columbia, South Carolina, for a week, the children's minister traveled 150 miles to a sister parish, Christ Church in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, to volunteer as one of their VBS crew leaders. This "VBS exchange" resulted in Melanie supporting Christ Church's program and finding ideas and energy for ministry back home.
Find out how volunteering at a sister church recharged Melanie's ministry.

Personal Note from Archbishop Rwaje
We have heard from Archbishop Rwaje that his father-in-law died July 11. The Archbishop wrote,
"This comes to let you know that my father-in-law (Josephine's father) went to be with the Lord. He was surrounded by his children who were praying with him. The burial was yesterday, and we had a real Christian gathering of praise and worship."
Please pray for their family!
